The project
A 2,500 sq ft modern, energy-efficient home overlooking the Kennebecasis River in Quispamsis.
The client wanted to tear down the existing home and build a new, modern, energy-efficient one in its place.
We went beyond code where it matters most: keeping water away from the house and making it more efficient for the long run.
Built above code
Upgrades you won't see once the house is finished, but will feel for decades.
- Extra membrane on the ICF foundationAn additional waterproofing membrane on the insulated concrete form walls.
- Additional drip capAt the top of the ICF and the bottom of the siding, on top of the starter strip, to divert water away from the wall.
- Downspouts tied into underground drainageGutters run into perforated drain tile, carrying roof water away from the foundation.
- 26-gauge metal sidingHeavier than the standard 28-gauge.
- Triple-pane windowsInstead of standard double-pane.
Walk through it
Nic walks through the build, from the curbless walk-in shower to the membrane and steel siding, plus the ICF foundation from the air and the roof trusses going up.
